Behind the Walls

Because Inspiration Ministries was birthed behind prison walls, God made it clear that a vital branch of Inspiration Ministries, accurately titled Behind the Walls, is geared toward not only the individuals being released, but also those who are still incarcerated.

The Ambassadors for Christ in Chains

For those in jail or prison, it is such a blessing to have Chaplains, Chapel Services, and volunteers to minister the Word of God. These people bring excitement and a love for God that inspires inmates to give their lives to Christ.

Unfortunately, a fact we rarely talk about, but something those who serve in prison ministry understand, is that we can only go so far in the compound. Eventually we reach gates that cannot be entered. And behind those gates live hundreds of men and women who need to know Jesus. Our hearts ache because we will never get a chance to see their faces or share the Gospel with them, because we know God longs for every inmate to feel His love.

However, God and His message cannot be hindered. Where we often see stumbling blocks, God sees stepping stones and opportunities. In 2 Corinthians 5:20, the Apostle Paul calls us who have tasted the heavenly gift of salvation to be an ambassador for Christ. Later, in Ephesians 6:20, Paul calls himself an ambassador in chains. These scriptures inspired a group of incarcerated men and women to form what is known as the Ambassadors for Christ in Chains (ACC), a group of dedicated Christ-followers heeding this call by following Paul's example of service and boldness regardless of where they are or what they have done. They realize the gift of salvation and eternal life offered through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is available to all people, whether they are serving one year in prison or a life sentence. Thus, they are committed to serving the Lord Jesus Christ and ministering to their fellow inmates, especially those that the Chaplains and outside ministries simply cannot reach.

What started out as a group of untrained men at Quincy Annex in Quincy, Florida, has spread to a number of prisons around the country. The ACC are holding prayer circles in the dorms, inviting others to church, consoling the brokenhearted, and evangelizing on the compound. Despite the very real fact that religious persecution is extremely prevalent in prison, the ACC press on toward the upward call of God and Christ Jesus.

Inspiration Ministries is proud to support the ACC as warriors for Christ, and provide them with a vehicle to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ via the monthly Inspiration Ministries Newsletter. Please pray for the ACC and all incarcerated men and women. Pray for their safety, their salvation, and that the newsletters reach far beyond what we even dare to dream or hope!
