Hi, my name is Telly, and I came to Inspiration Ministries broken, tired, and with a heart full of pain—but also full of hope. My biggest desire is to be reunited with my son. He is my world. Every day, I wake up with that goal in my heart, and I know that only through God’s strength can I keep going.
Before I got here, my life was full of chaos. Addiction had a grip on me, and I couldn’t see a way out. I made choices I can’t take back, and those choices led to my son being taken from me. The courts, DCS, and probation gave me a list of things I had to do to even be considered for visits or reunification—programs, counseling, parenting classes, drug tests, court hearings... it felt impossible.
But then my mentor, Julie, helped me apply to Inspiration Ministries. Marie came to interview me, and even though I tried to talk her into not bringing me for another week, she helped me into her car and brought me to Inspiration Ministries on Christmas Eve night.
Through this program, my mentor, my family, and the church, I found Jesus in a real way. I’m learning that what feels impossible to me is completely possible with God.
Scripture says:
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” — Matthew 19:26
I’ve been clean for one year today (September 24). I’m in my classes, doing my steps, showing up to court, and staying grounded in prayer. I’m working not just to get my son back, but to become the kind of mother he deserves. It’s hard—some days I cry, some days I feel like giving up—but God has never let me down.
This home, the women here, and the love of Jesus are giving me a second chance.
Scripture says:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
I may not know how this journey ends, but I trust the One who walks beside me. I believe God is restoring my relationship with my son. Every step I take is a step of obedience and faith. And I hold onto the promise in Romans 8:28:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
So if you're a mom like me—fighting for your kids and your life back—don’t give up. Trust God. Keep going. He’s a Redeemer, a Restorer, and He’s writing a new story for us.
I’d also like to thank just a few of the people who have helped tremendously along the way:
